the state of being united or joined as a whole.
Next Month I am participating in the Unity Festival at the High School, so I started wondering about what exactly Unity is and how it effects the Port Hueneme Area.
The definition of Unity above explains it very clearly. As Americans we all want the United States to achieve success and greatness. It does not matter what Political party we belong to or what Religion we are. We are united in the fact we want the success of the United States.
Here in the Port Hueneme Area we are all united by the fact we want are area to be prosperous and succeed. We want people to be employed and we want all businesses in the our area to be successful.
What does this look like to the average person? How can the average person contribute to the success of Port Hueneme and the surrounding area? So I live here and when I shop, I try to shop at local businesses and support them. I will be honest I am not going to eat food I do not prefer or buy things I do not want in order to support a new business.
In my heart I am really lazy and I am not going to drive very far just to save a buck or two, the price of gas spent in the trip is not worth it to me not to mention my time. Free time is so scarce and we will never get it back once it is spent.
I would just like to share some of MY OWN PERSONAL FAVORITE businesses around town.
1.) My Favorite of places to eat around here: Surfside Seafood. Because I can walk there, the food is tasty, they serve drinks...if and when I am in the mood for one, it is right on the beach I can see the ocean that I love!
2.) For coffee and Business meetings I always go to Anacappuccino LTD. Jessica Lamb the owner was voted Port Hueneme Business Person of the year. Good Coffee, good food nice people.
3.) For food when I do not want to leave my house: Pizzaman Dans. I sometimes am really lazy. I just want to stay home and be cozy and have food all ready prepared come to me!
4.) Ralphs for groceries as it is close and I find everything I need.
5.) www.PoHuLocal.com for clothes I wear everyday. In my heart I am basically a beachbum. I wear t-shirts and sweats almost everyday. I can shop at PoHuLocal without leaving my house and I know everything is made in America...I will toot my own horn here as I am a Local Port Hueneme Business hoping to survive. If you need T-shirts and let's be honest WHO DOESN'T? I invite you to purchase one from me.....if you are not happy with it...just send it back there is NO RISK INVOLVED!
I recommend everyone attend the Unity Festival on March 25th, at Port Hueneme High School. Let us Unify the schools and businesses and all the citizens so Port Hueneme, Oxnard and all the surrounding cities can be successful and prosperous.
