Cleaning gives me instant gratification. I can workout for one hour and I will not see the results instantly conversely if I spend an hour cleaning I can see the results! Living in a clean and sparkling house feels amazing. Sleeping in clean and soft sheets feels amazing.
Today is Sunday I sat down this morning and solved the problem of too many lids in my pots and pan drawer! I feel so satisfied to have finally made it organized and easy.
You can save yourself hours of time if you clean up as you go. Wash up the dishes while you are cooking and either put them away or in the dishwasher. Wipe off the kitchen counter when you are done cooking also. Wipe off the bathroom counter and sink after you wash up and brush your teeth. If you complete these little steps all week long you will NOT have to spend the weekend cleaning up after yourself.
When you do clean the whole room. Start at the top and move to the bottom. Start on the right and move to the left. This makes sure nothing gets skipped or has to be cleaned twice.
By limiting or de-cluttering all your knick knacks ..you will have less things to dust and clean! If you put all your equipment away OFF the kitchen counter, they will stay cleaner.
If you purge your unworn clothing it can be a blessing for someone who needs it. This past weekend there were so many places accepting donations of all kinds, for victims of Hurricane Harvey. Everyday there is probably someone who is in great need of a pair of shoes or slacks that WE never wear or use. St. Vincent de Paul, The Rescue Mission and Pick Up Please will all come out and pick up items upon request.
